Oh, my gosh, you guys. If all the stars align and nothing explodes and there is literally nothing else crazy that happens, I close on my first house in like nine days.
Nine. Days. My house. A house of my own. With four walls and a roof and a yard. In a neighborhood. With kids and other adults and mature trees and a neighborhood watch. And three bedrooms. A dedicated office, y’all. I’ll finally have a dedicated office. I’ll be able to paint the walls, and I’ll have access to everything on one floor, and, and, and… it will all be mine and I can hardly stand it.
Of course, last minute surprise costs and other insanity have the inner anxiety demon making an appearance right about now, but you know what? That’s okay. Sometimes, shit happens, and I’ve learned (because a lot of shit has happened to me, unfortunately) that you just have to roll with it, and hope you aren’t rolling down hill for too long. Which I won’t be this time. Because in nine days, I’ll have my own house.
I still won’t be moving for a couple weeks when work does a bit of a shut down and things in life are a little less hectic, but the point is I’ll have it and it will be mine and I should be moved in before the holidays and that is ridiculously exciting and scary and wonderful all at the same time.
I’m gonna need a paper bag and/or an oxygen tank by the end of the week though, for real guys. I can hardly stand all this craziness. When it’s all over, I’m going to have the biggest glass of wine humanly possible. The biggest. It will put all others to shame.
