I admittedly had a nice chuckle while working on this photo last night. There I was, playing around on Second Life and looking for new poses on the marketplace… while editing a photo of my avatar looking around on the marketplace. That’s some Inception-level awesomeness, right?
But in all seriousness… I took Friday and Monday off from work in RL to enjoy things just like that. It’s not that I don’t have a million things to do (I do – I always do). It’s just that sometimes, we need to be able to give ourselves permission to just… do nothing. And that can be hard. It can be hard because we’ve been wired to think that relaxing, while fun, is lazy. That we would be better off spending our time doing something productive.
But… not everything needs to be productive. Sometimes, we just need to allow ourselves to have some actual fun. There’s nothing wrong with that. Sometimes, disconnecting from the stresses of our real world for a little bit can be the healthiest thing for us.
